Materials used to make resin surfaces

Each resin surface must meet specific requirements.

The importance of the choice of materials

Each resin surface must meet specific needs. That is why every flooring made by Superfici Moderne is the result of careful formulation made to measure.

What are the most commonly used materials for making a resin floor?

Methacrylate resins

Methacrylic resins are among the newest. They can be applied to film, multilayer and or screed, even in combination with ceramic quartz.

They have fast curing characteristics, between 2 and 4 hours, and can be applied even in critical low temperature conditions (down to -20° C). They also respond very well to temperature changes.

They are particularly elastic and therefore suitable for all industrial environments where mechanical stresses and vibrations are particularly intense. The thickness, which can exceed several centimeters, makes it possible to secure the entire concrete structure underneath the coating.

Methacrylic resin coatings are highly suitable in all industrial environments where hygiene standards are high, such as the food, pharmaceutical and electronics industries.

It is completely waterproof. It holds up very well over time and is always repairable.

Epoxy resins

Epoxy resins lend themselves to a variety of applications. They are particularly suitable in residential developments and in work environments such as offices and stores, where the aesthetic appearance needs to have a certain impact.

However, they are also suitable for industrial environments due to their excellent mechanical and chemical resistance. They are coatings that lend themselves to easy sanitization and cleaning.

Epoxy, among all resins, is by far the most adaptable material. In fact, it can accommodate any request thanks to its infinite range of colors and finishes.

Polyurea

Polyurea is a special two-component coating system that is applied with a hot spray system.

It is a coating particularly suitable for outdoor uses. Polyurea is perfect for waterproofing surfaces such as parking lots, terraces, attics, roof gardens, and water holding tanks.

This resin offers high chemical and mechanical resistance and is resistant to all weather conditions.

Polyurethane cement

This type of resin coating is recommended in particular environments where temperatures can be very high. Polyurethane cement, applied at thicknesses of about 9 or 10 mm, , provides temperature resistance up to 120 °C.

It is a suitable material in almost all industrial environments.

Differences between surface resins

Each resin material has its own peculiarities. The technicians at Superfici Moderne will be able to indicate, based on the requirements and specifications of use, the best formulation for making the resin coating.
